I would like to thank PADR to nominate me for Hatton Divisional Award (Senior Basic Research Category) and I represented Pakistan at 93rdd IADR General Session. The conference was held in Boston, USA. It was a wonderful experience to represent my country at such a big forum, where researchers, faculty, postgraduate/undergraduate students came from all over the world. It's a rare opportunity for us to get a full travel grant and present our work in front of the world. At a professional level, this award provided me a chance to interact with other researchers and clinicians and opened the door to collaborate with them. From there we initiated some joints projects. Other than conference, it provided me an opportunity to visit other place in Boston, specifically I visited institutes like Harvard and MIT. I met with with top-class researchers over there and introduced our work. I must acknowledge PADR for providing me this option.

Participating in the IADR Unilever Hatton Competition was a memorable learning experience. Entering the competition regionally and then getting the chance to present my work at the prestigious IADR forum in San Francisco, CA, USA, left me with a great sense of acknowledgement of my passion and contributions to research related endeavors in the subject area of oral health care and delivery of novel therapeutic approaches to the clinic. Moreover, the experience further empowered me to transfer my enthusiasm for research to my students with a mindset to inculcate research based approach in their studies, future post graduate endeavors and clinical practice; so that the research landscape in Pakistan is further enriched and efforts of academicians and researchers are acknowledged and subsequently lauded.
